This lathe will be utilized to machine precise parts for current engineering prototypes and future research projects. It will replace antiquated, worn out, equipment. 2.0 Background: The Application Technology Research Unit, Soft Wheat Quality Lab, Corn, Soybean and Wheat all conduct USDA research in Wooster, Ohio. This research is backed by technicians that utilize precision metal working machinery to manufacture small batches of precision prototype parts and custom parts that are not available.
