Description

CONFIGURATION The vehicle shall be a Mercedes Zetros Cargo Truck, 4x4 chassis, with a cargo body. The vehicle shall be a 2026 model year or later. The vehicle shall have no more than 250 miles (402 km) on the odometer when delivered. Two-door day cab All instrument gauges in metric units Heating, defrosting, and air conditioning systems Left-hand drive (LHD) steering EURO 3 diesel engine, or equivalent, operable long-term on 1,500 ppm sulfur fuel Equipped with an exhaust brake or engine compression brake Equipped with a fuel water separator Vehicle shall have a manual transmission. Locking rear axle Cargo body capable of transporting at least 5 tons (4,445 kg) of payload. Cargo body shall have walls The vehicle shall be provided with a removable weather resistant soft cover and support structure for the cargo body. The soft cover shall be tan in color. Rear metal steps or ladder shall be provided to gain access to cargo body interior. A minimum of six (6) flush-mount tie-down rings/hooks shall be provided on the cargo body floor. Tie down ring/hook size and strength shall be appropriate for vehicle payload. Troop Seating: The vehicle in the cargo body shall be provided with removable seats for a minimum of 20 troops with full gear. Stowage shall be provided on the vehicle for the removable seats when not in use. Troop seats shall be integral with cargo body sides. If tools are required for the set-up, take down, and stowage of troop seats then they shall be provided. CHASSIS EQUIPMENT The vehicle shall be provided with all the manufacturer's standard equipment for the model proposed. The vehicle shall be provided with 2 front and 2 rear tow hooks or eyes. The vehicle shall be provided with lockable toolbox(es) or secured stowage compartment(s) of sufficient capacity to store all manufacturer's standard equipment and accessories, and those specified below. All locks for the toolbox(es) or compartment(s) shall be identically keyed. The vehicle shall be provided with a BII (Basic Issue Items), to include but not limited to Wheel Chocks Fire extinguisher ABC type Located in the cab with mounting bracket Minimum 4.4 lb (2.0 kg) capacity First-Aid Kit At least 3 red emergency reflective triangle(s) Grease gun Towing cable or strap Tire inflating hose with Quick-connect fittings on both ends Powered by vehicle compressed air system Sufficient length to inflate all tires on vehicle Chuck and built-in pressure gauge The rear wheels shall be provided with anti-sail mud flaps. The vehicle shall be provided with a Master Battery Disconnect Switch. The vehicle shall be equipped with a back-up alarm. Front mounted self-recovery winch shall be provided. Rear-mounted pintle shall be provided with a minimum 3,000 kg capacity The vehicle shall be provided with a NATO 12 pin trailer connection. Pneumatic airline connections for trailer brake connections. Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) Minimum 250 liter fuel tank Wheel Assembly (Tire and Wheel) Vehicle shall be provided with off-road rated, tubeless, radial tires. Vehicle shall be provided with a full-size spare wheel assembly with holder and tire-changing tools. Means to assist with the loading/unloading of the spare (i.e. davit, winch, etc.) Two, 5 gallon (or 20 liter) jerry cans with holders mounted on exterior of vehicle One labeled “Diesel Fuel” and the second one labeled “Potable Water” in French and English The vehicle shall be provided with a metal data plate affixed to the driver's door under the manufacturer's data plate or in the glove box written in French and English. The data plate shall contain the following: Name of vehicle, Name of manufacturer, vehicle curb weight in lbs. and kg, payload weight in lbs. and kg, Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) in lbs. and kg, Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) in lbs. and kg, gross vehicle axle rating for front and rear axles in lbs. and kg and required tire pressures for front and rear tires in psi. Exterior color of the vehicle (cab and cargo body) painted tan. Entire vehicle exterior (where applicable) shall be coated with corrosion protection (Carwell or similar) if delivery includes any sea travel. The corrosion protection shall be applied post DCMA inspection but prior to shipment. VEHICLE LANGUAGE AND MANUALS All instructions, diagrams and warning labels in French and English, or in universal symbols where appropriate, and permanently affixed to the vehicle. An operator manual provided for every vehicle, written in French and English. A total of 2 service manuals provided, written in French and English. A total of 2 parts manuals provided, written in French and English.
