Description

Tower Unit Specifications and Equipment The recommended Aerial device for NASA Fire Departments is a tandem axel, rear-mount design to increase firefighter safety when driving with increased visibility. The intent is to have this apparatus set up with tools and equipment to act as a mini-rescue apparatus. One side of the apparatus for would contain the standard aerial device tools and equipment with the ability to perform ventilation operations, salvage and overhaul, Rapid Intervention (firefighter rescue), and manage elevated utilities incidents. The other side would be set up with some basic necessary equipment for Rope Rescue (high/low angle) and other technical operations. To the extent possible, this apparatus would have the 5 basic functions of a Quint including a 300-500 gallon water tank and 2000 GPM fire pump, have an aerial device (ladder), have supply hose line, and ground ladders. Apparatus shall be delivered with full manufacturer warranties and shall not have been previously titled, registered, leased, or utilized for emergency response operations prior to Government acceptance.
