1 STATEMENT OF WORK PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY A. Work for this project consists of the removal of an existing culvert at the intersection 1.2 of Coldwater Road and Grant Creek. Installation of a new 12’ span x 5’ high x 20’ long concrete box culvert. A second existing twin metal culvert removal at the intersection of Northwest Boundary Road and Grant Creek shall also be completed after the completion of work at Coldwater Road to prevent road closure. Stream restoration shall be completed at this site. Work for these sites include, but are not limited to mobilization, staking, clearing and grubbing, structure excavation, dewatering, riprap placement, concrete barrier, conserved topsoil placement, mulching and seeding, erosion control, signing and streambed simulation. LOCATION A. This project is located in the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. 1.3 USE OF PREMISES A. General: Contractor shall have full use of Forest roads for construction operations, during construction period. Contractor's use of Forest roads is limited only by the Government's right to perform work or to retain other contractors on portions of Project. B. Contractor shall at all times conduct his operations to ensure the least inconvenience to the public and employees. Road closures will be permitted, when required, upon written approval of the Contracting Officer (CO). C. Confine storage of materials to areas as approved by the CO. D. Contractor shall provide adequate signing and barricades and take necessary safety measures to protect the public during all brushing operations. Contractor shall minimize disturbance of all undisturbed areas.
