1. Background
The BLM Wild Horse and Burro Program currently has a truck that is considered a holdover
and has been replaced by a new vehicle. These trucks are used in the field to monitor herd
management area conditions, to haul trailers and transport horses throughout Colorado
and neighboring states, and to support private placement events.
2. Purpose
The new truck is not yet field-ready and cannot safely haul trailers in either field or highway
conditions. This truck is essential for transporting horses and trailers across Colorado and
nearby states, moving panels and equipment for private placement events, and providing
overall operational support to the Colorado WHB Program.
3. Period of Performance
This period of performance is from the date of award through October 16, 2026.
4. Scope of Work
The contractor shall furnish and install all required equipment, along with picking up and
delivering the truck back to this address: 2815 H Rd, Grand Junction CO 81413.
a. Install flatbed for a 2025 Dual Rear Wheel Flatbed with headache rack/4 lights and
B&W Receiver Hitch and Bumper Hitch.
b. Ranch Hand front bumper with grill guard.
c. Install 2 toolbox 15”X12”X18” underbody of the bed of the Powder Coated Black
(something like the picture).
d. Fabricate and install spare tire holder on the driver side in front of rear tire.
e. On bed toolbox slider 17”X21”X78” (something like the picture)
