B. The Work consists of:
1. This item consists of the demolition and removal of the existing structure and all associated
appurtenances, all contents within the building, hazardous material abatement, and erosion
controls. The project site shall be left in a clean, orderly condition free of demolition debris,
litter, and refuse.
2. Hazardous material reports have not been completed for all structures included in the
contract documents. Refer to Part 1.9 of this Section for hazardous material reports
appended to this package. Contractor is responsible for all additional hazardous material
assessment and testing required. The following structures are not included in the hazardous
material reports appended to this package:
1. Jamaica Bay Unit (New York), Floyd Bennett Field (NSFB)
1) NSFB - 106 Barn Owl Building, Floyd Bennett Field, Kings County, NY.
3. Existing utilities associated with the structures to be abandoned shall be investigated,
capped and abandoned without permanently impacting downstream utility services.
Contractor is responsible for utility locates.
4. Concrete slabs on grade, walks, curbs, and stoops to be abandoned in place unless noted
otherwise on contract drawings.
5. Unless noted otherwise on contract drawings, concrete foundation walls, piers, and stairs
over 12” above grade shall be cut flush with grade, removed and disposed of legally. Any
remaining concrete basements floors shall be mechanically breached or cracked in two …
