REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 Inspect the controller, cables and mounting hardware terminating in electric motor listed in 1.3.1.1 for previous damage and deterioration, using 2.2 through 2.4 for guidance. 3.1.1 Verify correct value of overload setting or size of heater coils based on motor nameplate full load running current. NOTES: 4.1 Initial Condition - During normal operation watch stander noted NR 1 reefer compressor overheating. Watch stander secured NR 1 reefer, during investigation watch stander noted freeze box temperature was 30 degrees. S/F conducted compressor oil change, investigated electric solenoids, and motor resistance all reading SAT. S/F conducted OPTEST of NR 1 reefer during OPTEST 52 amps were noted for compressor motor, S/F conducted a through visual inspection of refrigerant line on return line to NR 3 unit cooler located in the freeze box. S/F isolated NR 3 unit cooler. S/F believes overheating compressor caused by system contamination of air and moisture into refrigerant system. 4.2 SRF Tool Room will issue each gauge, dial indicator, and torque wrenches when required. 4.3 Ship's Force will issue Handheld Programmer (HHP) tester when required. 4.4 Removal, installation, and alignment of coupling will be conducted by JON 38DJA51605-H0l. 4.5 Operational test of the No.1 reefer compressor system will be conducted by JON 38DJA51605-HO1. 5.
