I. Description of Work
This work consists of rodent extermination, rodent exclusion, and decontamination of two
housing units infested with rodents. The houses are located at the Coyote Ranger District Office
Administrative Site on the Santa Fe National Forest, in Coyote, New Mexico in Rio Arriba
County.
The contractor shall furnish all materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, and personnel to
provide the services described in this scope of work.
II. Location:
The Coyote Ranger District Office is located at 20 Private Drive 1707, Box 1 Coyote, NM
87012. Two housing units are included in this scope of work: Housing Unit #28 (Crew Quarters),
and Housing Unit #46 (Ranger House). The Ranger District Office can be accessed starting in
Santa Fe, New Mexico, travel north on US-84 W/US Hwy 285N to NM-96 in Rio Arriba
County. Follow NM-96 for approximately 20 miles to arrive.
III. Tasks:
The Contractor shall perform tasks to remove, exclude, and decontaminate a housing unit
infested with rodents.
Task 1: Rodent Extermination
Contractor shall install traps throughout the housing units at appropriate times of day to reduce
rodent population quickly. Trap rotation will consist of an initial set and placement of traps
(approximately 60 traps with pre-bait placed on un-set traps (2 service stops), and switch to live
traps (2 services) monitored daily for each house. Assume 4 service stops of approximately
2hours for each house.
Install NM Department of Agriculture compliant exterior bait stations and interior bait stations
for preventive rodent control.
Task 2: Exclusion Service
Contractor shall use stainless steel contractors fabric and adhesive/screws or staples to seal and
prevent future travel for target pest.
Crew Quarters: Exclusion areas include under the sink, interior left side of cabinets, exterior
penetrations from damaged stucco and eves. Holes (>25) in stucco will be patched with steel
mesh and finished with a stucco patch. Roof penetrations (10) will be excluded using 1/4inch
stainless steel hardware cloth caps. Crawlspace vents (10) will be screened off from the inside to
allow proper venting of the crawl space.
Ranger House: Exclusion areas include under the sink, and exterior penetrations from damaged
stucco and eves. Holes (>10) in stucco will be patched with steel mesh and finished with a stucco
patch. Roof penetrations (10) will be excluded using 1/4inch stainless steel hardware cloth caps.
Crawlspace vents (10) will be screened off from the inside to allow proper venting of the crawl
space.

Task 3: Rodent Infestation Decontamination
Thorough clean out of all rooms in housing unit using 365nM UV lights, HEPA vacuum,
scrubbers, high pressure stem injectors. Contractor will move all furniture and other items, and
clean all items using an enzymatic cleaner and viricide disinfectant to destroy pheromones, feces
strains, and urine accumulation from rodents. Areas include entirety of home: cabinets, drawers,
appliances, vent fan penetrations. Three interior vent fans will be removed, decontaminated, and
reinstalled.
Task 4: Bait Stations
Self-contained next generation bait station with locks and ramps to prevent water infiltration into
station.
Task 5: Garage Door Cap and Installation (Ranger House Only)
Install garage door cap (18ft) to seal interior space and exclude rodents.
IV. Deliverables:
Contractor shall provide a report on all services provided. The report shall include the number
and types of traps used, types of bait, number of rodents removed, photos documenting location
of interior and exterior holes fixed to exclude rodents, detailed information regarding
decontamination procedures, and any other relevant or pertinent information. The deliverable is
incidental to Tasks 1-5.
V. Period of Performance and USFS Contact:
Work shall be scheduled with the COR within 5 days of contract award. All tasks shall be
completed within 30 days.
Contract Time:
The Period of Performance shall be 30 calendar days after contract award.
