2. BACKGROUND:
Repair findings are as follows:
1) Code 970 Divers needs welding training.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION:
3.1 Vendor shall provide the following training and equipment:
Shielded Metal Arc Welding process (SMAW) course covers four (4) weeks of
training for up to four (4) students at 2970 Main Street, San Diego, CA 92113.
The courses are taken in four continuous weeks. No refunds issued once
students begin class.
Training consumables: welding rod and project plate (per student)
AWS Welding Test which leads to qualification (if passed) from an
Accredited Test Facility
Students will be issued PPE if they do not have their own
Following training will be provided:
-Welder’s safety training
-Welder training on the Shielded Metal Arc welding process
-Welder training on the following SMAW electrodes (I.E. E6011, E7018)
-Welder training on mild steel plate in the 1F,2F, 3F and 4F positions
-Welding training on mild steel plate in the 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G positions
-Welding qualification on 3/8” mild steel plate, vee groove joint in the 3G and 4G
positions as per the Workshops for Warriors Accredited Test Facility.
For the course duration, students will be assigned a welding booth and welding
equipment associated to complete the course.
Students are required to provide their own PPE. If students do not have access
to PPE, this can be provided at $100/per student.
At the end of this course of instruction, successful students will receive a
Certificate of Completion.
