BACKGROUND: The 434th Communications Squadron (434 CS) is undergoing a scheduled
technology refresh of communications equipment in building 427.
To support the deployment of the new core nodes and server switches, the facility requires the
installation of dedicated 30-Amp power feeds. A total of four (4) runs are required to support
the server rack from an existing uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system.
Because the server racks are separated from the walls to allow walk-around access (front and
rear clearance), the contractor must install facility-mounted electrical receptacles directly on the
real property structure (e.g., mounted securely to the top or bottom of the server rack rails or
under the raised floor tiles immediately adjacent to the racks). The 434 CS will separately
acquire and connect the power receptacles/PDUs from the IT equipment to these newly
installed receptacles.
A second project is scheduled to take place to accomplish tech refresh of communications
equipment in Building 427 DCO and Building 671 communications room. These facilities
require the installation of dedicated 15-Amp power feeds. A total of two (2) runs are required to
support the server racks. To accommodate for standalone rackmount UPS.
SECURITY: Contractor personnel will require background checks, vehicle passes, and base
identification badges to work on Grissom ARB. Background checks can take several weeks and
must be initiated immediately upon award. Building 427 Datacenter is a secure controlled area.
Contractor personnel must be escorted at all times while performing work in this facility.
Escorts will be coordinated by the 434 CS Project POCs. Any penetration of fire-rated walls,
ceilings, or floors must be properly sealed with approved fire-stopping materials. Any work
impacting facility airflow or fire barriers must be coordinated with the Base Fire Inspector.
OBJECTIVES: The contractor shall be responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment
required to complete the work described herein, regardless of the site conditions discovered.
This project is a firm, fixed price (FFP) turnkey installation. The contractor is solely
responsible for the verification of all field conditions, including but not limited to, breaker panel

space and compatibility, routing, pathways for conduits, structural mounting points, and
adherence to all referenced codes. The Government will not be liable for any claims resulting
from the contractor’s failure to perform due diligence. Refer to the below scope of work &
specifications.
Project 1: Specification Area Required Details
Power Requirement 240V/208V, Single-Phase, 30-Amp. (Total
estimated load: 37.5 Amps, 7,810 Watts,
9,000 VA).
Quantity Four (4) independent circuit runs.
Receptacle Type NEMA L6-30R (Locking Receptacles) rated
for 250V/30A, each mounted in a secure,
code-compliant metal junction box. Junction
boxes must be mounted on the top or bottom
of the server rack or secure structural
channels.
Wiring & Distance Approximately 25-foot run from the source
electrical/UPS panel to the server racks. Must
use appropriately sized copper wire (minimum
10 AWG or as required by code/distance to
prevent voltage drop).

Breakers Install four (4) new double-pole 30A breakers
in the existing Eaton UPS panel A, B, or C.
Contractor is responsible for verifying breaker
brand, location, and type compatibility during
the pre-bid site visit.
Routing & Conduit All wiring must be routed professionally and
safely using code-compliant conduit (e.g.,
EMT or Liquid-tight flexible metallic conduit
where applicable) utilizing existing overhead
cable ladders, under-floor spaces, or drop
ceilings as determined during the site visit.
Testing & Grounding Contractor must test all four (4) receptacles
for proper phase-to-phase and phase-to-
ground voltage, polarity, and grounding. A
copy of the test results must be provided to the
Government Project Manager.
