Scope of Work for General Contracting Requirements At Air Station Savannah, GA 1.1 SCOPE The scope of work for this project includes: removal and disposal of the current emergency generator in the hangar (Bldg #830) and the automatic transfer switch. Contractor shall remove old unit, install new diesel generator and secure in place. All exhaust and ventilation ducting shall be reconnected after install of new generator. The automatic transfer switch shall be replaced, and reconnected. Acceptance is contingent on successful startup and full system testing to include a successful full load bank test. 1.2 LOCATION OF SITE USCG Air Station Savannah is located at: Hunter Army Airfield, 1297 North Lightning Road, Savannah, GA. Phone: 912-652-4646. 1.3 EXAMINATION OF SITE Site visit is required by prospective bidders to inspect the work in place and verify the amount of work necessary to complete the job. Prospective bidders must schedule a site visit by emailing the Air Station Facilities Engineer LCDR Dan Blaich at Daniel.J.Blaich@uscg.mil or the Public Works Division Billy Hopkins, billy.r.hopkins@uscg.mil, or Paul Haddock Paul.K.Haddock@uscg.mil, between the hours 0800-1530 on normal business days. 1.4 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The Contractor shall provide all labor and equipment to accomplish the scope of this work. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Facilities Engineer LCDR Dan Blaich or Public Works Billy Hopkins or Paul Haddock to ensure that disruptions to the normal operations of Air Station Savannah are minimized. 1.5 PRODUCTS Products to be furnished by the contractor:  Replacement narrow skid diesel generator for Kohler 60kw or industry standard no smaller than 60KW.  1 150-Amp 480V automatic transfer switch. 1.6 INSTALLATION Contractor shall remove and dispose of current generator and replace with new unit. All fuel lines, vent fan ducting, and exhaust system connectors shall be reconnected to the new unit or replaced by the contractor. Automatic transfer switch shall be removed and replaced. Contractor shall perform a test startup and full load bank test prior to acceptance. 1.7 WORK COORDINATION All work shall be coordinated with the Facilities Engineer LCDR Blaich or the Public Works Department so there is minimal disruption to USCG Air Station Savannah during work. -- 1 of 2 -- 1.8 WORK HOURS Unless otherwise negotiated, all other work called for by this specification shall be coordinated during the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. 1.9 CONTRACTOR USE OF PREMISES The Contractor will be working on a Coast Guard operational military installation. Become familiar with and obey station fire, traffic, and security regulations. Personnel shall not stray from the immediate area of work without the escort of the Air Station Facilities Engineer or other Public Works department personnel, except for the use of the restrooms. 1.10 CLEANUP The Contractor shall keep the work area, including storage area, free from accumulation of waste materials and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to storage, transport, and disposal of wastes. The Contractor shall not use Coast Guard waste disposal facilities including garbage cans, trash piles, or dumpsters. Any equipment or material removed, unless otherwise directed by the Air Station Public Works department, shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be transported from the site. 1.11 SECURITY The Contractor shall comply with all regulations set forth by Hunter Army Airfield. Proper ID is as defined by Hunter Army Airfield at https://home.army.mil/stewart/about/Garrison/DES/visitor-information 1.13 FINAL INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE When the work is complete and ready for final inspection, contact the Air Station Facilities Engineering Officer, LCDR Dan Blaich, at Daniel.J.Blaich@uscg.mil or the Public Works Divison, Billy Hopkins or Paul Haddock, at billy.r.hopkins@uscg.mil or Paul.K.Haddock@uscg.mil. Product shall only be accepted following system startup and full load bank testing. 1.14 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING Deliver materials to, store at site, and handle in a manner that will maintain the materials in their original manufactured or fabricated condition until ready for use. 1.15 OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS Furnish an operation and maintenance manual for each item of equipment. The manual should be complete in all respects for equipment, controls, accessories, and associated appurtenances provided. A copy of the equipment warranties must also be provided. -- 2 of 2 --
