MEMORANDUM FOR FARGO ROOF PROJECT 26Z4AJ1
FROM: FACILITIES DEPARTMENT
SUBJECT: STATEMENT OF WORK
I. SCOPE A. INTRODUCTION
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Yankton
located at 1016 Douglas Avenue Yankton, South Dakota 57078 intends to
make a single award to a responsible entity that will provide high-
durability polymer shake roofing materials and matching hip/ridge
components to support an on-site installation project.
SCOPE OF WORK
The Contractor shall supply and deliver engineered polymer shake roofing
materials and accessories that replicate the aesthetic of hand-split
shakes. The materials must meet strict durability, fire, and impact
resistance standards. Installation is excluded from this requirement and
will be performed by the Government.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
All products provided by the Contractor must meet or exceed
the following technical and physical characteristics:
• Material Composition: Engineered polymer composite designed
for enhanced durability, high impact resistance, and fire
resistance.
• Field Shake Dimensions: 9” Width x 22” Length, with a 5/8”
thickness at the butt.
• Color/Finish: Aged Cedar aesthetic.

• Workability: Material must be capable of being cut using a
standard utility knife or circular saw.
• Installation Compatibility: Material must be engineered for
installation at a 9” or 10” exposure over an existing field
portion consisting of 1/2” Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with
synthetic felt and ice-and-water shield.
• Hip and Ridge Components: One-piece composite hip and ridge
shake caps optimized for roof pitches of 12:12 or less.
• Fire Class Rating: Class A ASTM E180
• Impact Resistance: Class 4 Rating
QUANTITIES AND DELIVERABLES
The Contractor shall deliver the following quantities, which
include all necessary waste factors:
• Field Shakes: Sufficient material to cover approximately
6,600 square feet of roof area.
• Hip/Ridge Caps: Sufficient composite ridge caps to cover 270
linear feet of hips and ridges.
• Lineal ft of Eaves: Sufficient material to cover 360 lineal
ft of eaves
DELIVERY AND LOGISTICS
• 1016 Douglas Ave.
• Yankton, SD 57078
• Shipping Terms: F.O.B. Destination. The contractor is
responsible for safe transport and offloading at the
designated warehouse.
