Description

GUTTER CLEANING AND REPAIR GREY TOWER NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE MILFORD PA. SPECIFICATIONS SECTION 01010 - SUMMARY OF WORK PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 SUMMARY A. Description of Work: 1. Work Covered by Contract Documents: a. Provide for and furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, certificates, insurance, temporary protection, and other items designated under provisions of this contract necessary to provide Gutter cleaning services on the Mansion and Outbuildings at Grey Towers National Historic Site. b. The project shall consist of work to include but not limited to: Cleaning Gutters and downspouts on the Mansion, Bait Box, Letterbox, Icehouse, Visitor Pavilion, Gatehouse and Farmhouse. Cleaning consists of inspecting all gutter and downspout systems on the buildings described above and if debris is found it will be removed. All downspout screens and scuppers are to be cleaned and put back in place unless otherwise directed. The purpose of this work is to ensure the Gutters and downspouts operate as designed and intended. The Mansion will be broken out into two sections the Mansion main building as one and the 3 Towers as a sperate bid the reason is the Towers only need to be cleaned once a year. All other buildings described will be bid as entire building gutter systems. If during inspection/cleaning, there is any damage identified to the gutter systems the damage is to be reported to the COR. All debris will be collected and removed from site including any debris on walkways, roads and other areas that was a result of the gutter cleaning. Gutter repair, 50’ is listed in schedule of items, this can include but not limited to repairing seams or installing a section to repair operation of gutters on copper gutter system or typical aluminum gutter system up to 50 feet a year. This will be coordinated and approved by the COR before repair is started. Heat tape removal and installation of new in section deemed to not be functioning will be notified to COR and an install up to 50 feet and connected to electrical boxes already in the mansion & outbuildings. This will be coordinated and approved by the COR before repair is started. -- 1 of 3 -- Actual sizes, distances and materials required are the responsibility of the contractor. The contractor shall inspect with the COR (Contracting Officer Representative) all existing conditions. Work shall be performed in accordance with manufacturer’s application instructions, industry standards and best practices, applicable construction codes, this statement of work, and federal, state, and local laws and regulations to include OSHA regulations. Grey Towers Historical Site is a tourist attraction with many events and activities. Safety is the upmost of importance for the protection of employees and the public. The Contractor shall coordinate work with the COR and ensure sufficient safety notices and precautions are in place around the work area to protect Grey Towers’ employees and the public from all hazards. See below for a more detailed explanation for the Description of Work and the Estimated Quantities, see Schedule of Items *Gutters will be cleaned 4 times annually exact dates and times will be coordinated by the COR *Mansion 3 Towers to be cleaned 1 times a year *No building permits are needed for this contract. *Site visits shall be coordinated with the COR *All work shall meet Manufacturers Specifications, International Building Codes Current edition, and Forest Service Specifications FP-14. In the case of conflict use the requirement which is more protective. * All work shall be performed in compliance with OSHA Regulations. *Work area shall be cleaned up at the end of each work day. The quantities shall be paid for as lump sum quantities or by other methods of measure as listed in the SCHEDULE OF ITEMS.
