The Department of Defense is procuring military-type training services, specifically a conference center and challenge course, from Outdoor Odyssey in Pennsylvania. This opportunity is not set aside for small businesses, and it is categorized under NAICS 721214 and PSC G003. The award notice indicates that Outdoor Odyssey is the sole source capable of meeting the specific military training requirements, making it essential for interested vendors to track similar opportunities rather than bid. Control No: KNOX-SAT-2026-0079
conference center and challenge course costs per person per day, without
breakfast, dinner & lodging.
Outdoor Odyssey is the only source in the area that can provide the military type
training that meets the guidelines established by CCR 145-2. Leaders Reaction Course,
climbing/rappel tower and obstacle course were all built to military specifications by a
US Navy Construction Battalion. Approximate cost per cadet is $75 per day. Solicitation
of vendors outside of our target area would adversely affect our mission. Web searches
and direct contact surveys were made in 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022 and 2021 in an
attempt to locate a suitable alternate vendor but failed to identify a facility that can meet
all requirements as specified by CCR 145-2.
