Lake Ophelia National Wildlife Refuge Replacement Existing Wall Mounted AC/Heating Unit Scope of Work Lake Ophelia NWR (Central Louisiana Refuge Complex) is located about 25 miles northeast of the city of Marksville and 45 miles southeast of the city of Alexandria. The existing Lake Ophelia office building was constructed in the late 1990’s. Just recently the wall-mounted AC/heating unit stopped working due to age and normal wear. The AC/heating unit was inspected by contractor, and it needs to be removed and replaced with a new unit. The existing asset Lake Ophelia Office Building (10047161) requires replacement of the entire wall-mounted AC/heating unit to maintain protection of the office facility from the outdoor elements. Lake Ophelia’s office building serves as a secondary facility for which administers the management of Lake Ophelia NWR. The AC contractor will remove the old AC/heating wall-mounted unit and dispose of it properly. The contractor will then prepare the new unit for installation. The contractor will install new 4-ton AC/heating unit along with wall mounting brackets. The unit will also require a piece of machinery to lift and remove the old unit and install the new unit. The AC/heating unit weighs around 1,000 lbs. The contractor will be responsible for all electrical wiring and connections with a disconnect box which will be required to complete the installation. The Refuge contacted a suggested/preferred vendor, which is Dubroc’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration to provide price estimate/quote to the specifications provided by the Refuge.
