• GSO: General Services Office
• NEC: New Embassy Compound

• OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturer
B. INTRODUCTION
This Statement of Work supports the acquisition of Fire Alarm System spare parts for the NEC.
C. BACKGROUND
These OEM spare parts are essential for the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of the fire
alarm systems installed throughout the facility. Components such as control panels, initiating
devices, notification appliances, relays, power supplies, communication modules, and other
manufacturer-approved replacement parts are specifically designed and tested to function as an
integrated part of the fire alarm system. These components ensure proper fire alarm performance,
occupant safety, accurate detection and notification functions, communication functions, and
compliance with the manufacturer's operational requirements.
The use of non-OEM, aftermarket, or incompatible replacement parts could adversely affect
system performance, reduce reliability, create troubleshooting challenges, void manufacturer
warranties, and increase maintenance costs and downtime. Additionally, the installation of
substitute components may compromise compliance with applicable fire safety codes,
manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Given the critical role fire alarm systems play in daily building operations and occupant safety,
maintaining full warranty and manufacturer compliance is essential. Procuring the specified OEM
fire alarm spare parts ensures compatibility with existing equipment, minimizes operational
disruptions, preserves the long-term reliability and service life of the systems, and protects the
facility from avoidable financial, safety, and operational risks.

The requirement is to provide spare parts at the New Embassy Compound in Mexico City.
This list has been determined and approved by OBO to be funded under the allocated budget. As
