NEXRAD Power Supply with Fan Tray
REQUISITION NO: 142082-26-0457
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background
The Logistics Management Branch provides overall management of the NWS logistics program.
Responsibilities include developing national logistics policy and guidance; integrated logistics support
planning for new systems; inventory management; procurement initiation; repair ordering; cataloging;
source, maintenance, and recovery coding; modifications; customer support and obsolescence
programs. It implements computerized systems that interface with military and Governmental systems
for logistics data, parts issues, parts receipts and funds transfers. The Branch is the NWS focal point
for multi- agency logistics management and serves as a designated Primary Inventory Control Activity
(PICA) for the Department of Defense and the Federal Aviation Administration on NEXRAD and
ASOS programs.
1.2 Discussion
In order to support the overall life-cycle of the NEXRAD WSR-88D weather radar, the National
Logistics Support Center (NLSC), through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), provides technical
logistics support to agencies within the Department of Commerce (DOC). Emergency shipping, project
distribution and other services are provided to DOC field sites at locations world-wide. The NLSC
provides highly technical logistical support of equipment spares, critical to the diverse missions of the
participating agencies.
1.3 Requirement
The Logistics Management Branch has a requirement for a single year contract to manufacture 09
spare Power Supply with Fan Tray(s) to be used to support the operational radar readiness,
maintenance and repair associated with the WSR-88D NEXRAD Radar.
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
Manufacture two (02) first articles (FA) for quality control testing of Power Supply with Fan
Tray(s) in accordance with DWG 2210091within 24 weeks of contract acceptance. Any change
to the requested requirements will need prior approval by the National Weather Service. Any
change to requested quantity (Vendor “required minimum”) will need prior approval by the
National Weather Service. Any deviation from attached DWG 2210091 will need prior
approval by the National Weather Service. Once the QC Department has approved and
accepted the units for stock, the Manufacture will be contacted to proceed with the production
units.
Manufacture seven (07) production units of Power Supply with Fan Tray(s) in accordance
with DWG 2210091. The units are to be delivered within 12 weeks of FA acceptance.
Provide a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) or equivalent for each Power Supply with Fan Tray.
Invoice(s) will require Purchase Order Number, part number, tariff (if applicable) and
shipping/FOB destination cost, unit and total cost.
Individually package the Power Supply with Fan Tray(s) IAW Instructions to Commercial
Vendors for Marking and Barcoding Supplies for shipments to the National Logistics Support
Center, Grand View, MO.

3.0 DELIVERABLES
CLIN 0001: The Contractor shall manufacture two (02) first articles (FA) Power Supply with Fan
Tray in accordance with the Specifications and Drawings included in DWG 2210091 within 24 weeks
of Contract award. Once the National Weather Service Quality Control Department receives, inspects
and accepts the units for stock, the Contractor will be notified to proceed with the seven productions
units.
CLIN 0002: The Contractor will package and ship seven (7) production units of the Power Supply
with Fan Tray within 12 weeks of program acceptance via UPS or FEDEX Ground services, IAW
Instructions to Commercial Vendors for Marking and Barcoding Supplies for shipments to the
National Logistics Support Center, Grand View, MO.
The above schedule is an estimate and subject to change by the Contracting Officer.
The Government reserves the right to waive First Article requirement if the awarded contractor
has successfully delivered the supply in the past.
3.1 Period of Performance: 365 days after award of Contract/date set by Contracting Officer.
