What this opportunity is

The Department of Health and Human Services is soliciting a contract for the Olink Explorer >5400, a protein analysis system that measures over 5,400 human proteins simultaneously. This opportunity is open to all businesses, as no set-aside is used. The system must have specific features, including Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology, dual-recognition antibody design, and next-generation sequencing readout. Bidders should track the solicitation, as it is not a formal bid opportunity.

Description

Requirements: 2.0 BACKGROUND Our lab studies the role of inflammation/innate resistance and commensal microbiota in carcinogenesis, cancer progression and therapy of cancer. The following product features/characteristics are required for this requirement: Protein Coverage - Measures ~5,400+ human proteins simultaneously in a single workflow. Technology - Uses Proximity Extension Assay (PEA ) with dual antibody recognition coupled to DNA barcoding and next-generation sequencing (NGS) readout. Sample input – requires only 2 ul of plasma, serum, and other sample types Specificity - Reported 99.5% specificity with negligible cross-reactivity due to dual-recognition antibody design. Dynamic Range - Approximately 10 orders of magnitude (fg/mL to mg/mL ) , enabling detection of both low- and high-abundance proteins. Key strengths Very broad proteome coverage while maintaining antibody-based specificity. Excellent sensitivity for low-abundance circulating proteins (especially cytokines and signaling proteins). Extremely low sample-volume requirement. Highly standardized platform, making it attractive for epidemiology and multi-omics studies.
