DEP-29101-4P SECTION 01 10 00 - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Page 3 of 80 DIVISION 01 - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 01 10 00 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS PART 1 GENERAL WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS 1.1.1 Project Identification The project name is B623 Renovations 1.1.2 Location The project is located at Devens Reserve Forces Training Area (RFTA) in Devens RFTA Building 623, Hall of Flags Conference Center, located at 42 Quebec Street, Devens MA. See Attachment 1. 1.1.3 Project Description The description below is given to indicate the general scope of this project only. It does not limit the work required under the project drawings and specifications. The purpose of this project is to remove and replace vinyl floor tiles in Building 623, Hall of Flags Conference Center at Devens RFTA. Approximate square footage and building layout are provided in the attachments. It is highly recommended that the vendor perform a site visit to ensure accuracy in their calculations. The Contractor shall perform the following tasks: A. Prior to start of work, the Contractor submit the documents listed in this and other Sections Paragraph entitled SUBMITTALS. B. Prior to start of work, provide all engineering associated with the removal and disposal of the existing vinyl floor tiles. As well as the installation of the new replacement Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) floor tiles. All installation is to include associated hanging grid system, tiles, equipment and materials, etc. Take note of timelines and requirements for providing information in this GENERAL CONDITIONS section. C. Obtain all permitting associated with the disconnection, removal and disposal of the existing drop ceiling system, if required by the State or Local Governments. D. Approximate square footage: 13,988. (See attachments for layout and estimates) E. DEMOLITION i. The Contractor shall coordinate all work with Directorate of Public Works Point of Contact. ii. Remove and dispose of the existing vinyl floor tiles and any associated materials. F. VINYL TILE REPLACEMENT -- 3 of 80 -- US ARMY GARRISON DEVENS RFTA BLDG 623 RENOVATIONS DIRECTORATE OF PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT NO. DEP-29101-4P SECTION 01 10 00 - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS Page 4 of 80 i. Remove and dispose of existing tile and then install new Vinyl Composition Tiles (VCT) in all areas of building 623. ii. Clean up the work area upon project completion and restore all affected project areas to pre-work conditions. iii. The USAG Devens RFTA Directorate of Public Works (DPW) POC for this work is Zygmunt Osiecki zygmunt.v.osiecki.civ@army.mil (office phone no. 978-615-6555). 1.1.4 Record Drawings A. Record construction drawings have been provided for the contractor use. Current conditions may vary from the records. Verification of the work site prior to bid and contract award is strongly encouraged. B. Data and information furnished or referred to is for the Contractor’s information only. The Government shall not be responsible for any interpretation of, nor conclusions drawn from the data or information by the Contractor. C. The indications of physical conditions on the drawings are the result of As-Built Drawings. These documents may or may not depict actual conditions. The Contractor by his own site investigations shall determine actual field conditions and measurements. D. The Government does not guarantee that other materials will not be encountered, nor that proportions, conditions or character of several materials will not vary from those indicated by the drawings. Bidders are expected to examine site of work and, after investigation, decide for themselves character of materials and make their bids accordingly. 1.2 OCCUPANCY OF PREMISES With the exception of rooms 104 and 106, the building is not expected to be occupied during performance of wo
