NAZARIO UNITED STATES COURTHOUSE SECTION 274010.02 - AUDIO-VISUAL GENERAL - AOUSC Page 1 of 21 SECTION 274010.02 - AUDIO-VISUAL GENERAL - AOUSC PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY A. The General Provisions herein are applicable to the following Specification Sections: 1. Section 274105, Audio-Visual Equipment Enclosures. 2. Section 274106, Audio-Visual Power Distribution and Management Equipment. 3. Section 274110, Microphones, Conferencing Systems, and Audio Source Equipment. 4. Section 274111, Automated Mixing, Processing, and Amplification Equipment. 5. Section 274113, Reinforcement and Program Audio Loudspeakers. 6. Section 274116, Accessibility Systems. 7. Section 274121, Video Camera, Source, and Recording Equipment. 8. Section 274122, Video Transport, Switching, and Processing Equipment. 9. Section 274123, Video Display Equipment. 10. Section 274124, Video Conferencing and Collaboration Systems. 11. Section 274131, Audio-Visual Control Systems and Programming. 12. Section 274132, Audio-Visual Network Equipment. 13. Section 274140, Audio-Visual Cabling and Connectors. B. This Section may be referred to as "Section 274010, Audio-Visual General" herein, in other Specification Sections, or on the Drawings. C. Power provisions are covered in Section 274106, Audio-Visual Power Distribution and Management Equipment. D. Provide additional power provisions, raceways, and boxes, beyond those indicated herein or on the Drawings, as required to accommodate the system configuration. E. Performance Verification responsibilities and obligations related to these Systems are specified in Section 274090.02, Audio-Visual Performance Verification. F. The Contractor shall be responsible for interfacing power and grounding provisions with work covered under these Sections. 1.2 DEFINITIONS A. "Audio-Visual Contractor," or simply, "Contractor" - The organization charged with installation and configuration of the systems described herein. -- 2 of 117 -- SAN JUAN DISTRICT COURTROOMS USDC - DISTRICT OF PUERTO RICO FEDERICO DEGETAU FEDERAL BUILDING CLEMENTE R. NAZARIO UNITED STATES COURTHOUSE B. "Basis of Design," - A device used to develop the requirements herein and in other Specification Sections in this Project. This shall not be interpreted as a sole-source requirement. C. "Courtroom Technology" - A collective term for the audio, video, evidence presentation, and video teleconferencing equipment. 1.3 LOCATION OF WORK A. The work described herein shall be performed at: 1. Federico Degetau Federal Building & Clemente Ruiz Nazario United States Courthouse at 150 Calle Carlos E. Chardon, Hato Rey, Puerto Rico 00918. 1.4 SCOPE OF WORK A. The scope of work for this request for proposal Call for Courtroom Technology (services and equipment) includes but may not be limited to the following: 1. As the Base Bid for this Project, the Contractor shall procure, install, configure, and test complete and operational Courtroom Technology systems as described herein in the spaces as follows: a. AVoIP, Evidence Presentation, and Evidence Cart, Control Panel software modifications, including code and GUI, in Hato Rey Courtroom 2 Clemente Ruiz Nazario Courthouse. 2. As schedule B for this Project, the Contractor shall procure, install, configure, and test complete and operational Courtroom Technology systems as described herein in the spaces as follows: Option 1 AVoIP, Evidence Presentation, Evidence Cart, Control Panel software modifications, including code and GUI, in Hato Rey Courtroom 6 Clemente Ruiz Nazario Courthouse. Option 2 AVoIP, Evidence Presentation, Evidence Cart, Control Panel software modifications, including code and GUI, in Hato Rey Courtroom 5 Clemente Ruiz Nazario Courthouse. Base bid includes one courtroom. Schedule B shall be stand alone with its own labor and travel as shown on the B-Schedule. SECTION 274010.02 - AUDIO-VISUAL GENERAL - AOUSC Page 2 of 21 -- 3 of 117 -- SAN JUAN DISTRICT COURTROOMS USDC - DISTRICT OF PUERTO RICO FEDERICO DEGETAU FEDERAL BUILDING CLEMENTE R. NAZARIO UNITED STATES COURTHOUSE SECTION 274010.02 - AUDIO-VISUAL GENERAL - AOUSC Page 3 of 21 4. Per GSA, any abandoned low voltage cable must be removed from conduits, wall boxes, and floor boxes. This includes cabling that was abandoned either prior to the Contractor commencing work or if the abandonment was not caused by the Contractor's work. The Contractor shall remove all abandoned low voltage cable from any existing wall or floor box (or section thereof) that will be reused in this Project. The Contractor shall remove all abandoned low voltage cable from any existing conduit connected to an existing wall or floor box, whether that conduit will be used as a part of this Project or not. 5. Unless otherwise noted on the Drawings, this Scope of Work shall include everything necessary or incidental to complete the installation, including but not limited to receptacle plates, wire, electrical boxes, racks, accessories, and parts. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary information to ensure that a proper audio-visual system will be installed. 6. This Project involves replacing and/or adding equipment to an existing equipment rack that is in service. Since the equipment rack cannot be shipped to the Contractor's fabrication facility, all rack building shall be completed on site. The Contractor shall remove all equipment that will not be reused in this Project. Remove all cabling from the equipment rack that has been previously abandoned or that will become abandoned because of this Project. 7. Where raised floor systems are installed in the spaces in this Project, the Contractor will be required to remove and replace the floor tiles as necessary to complete the work
