STATEMENT OF WORK
CMAC LARYNGOSCOPE EQUIPMENT
1. BACKGROUND
The Olin E. Teague Veterans’ Medical Center, Station 674 (CTVHCS), Temple, Texas,
requests the procurement of C-MAC video laryngoscopy equipment, including pocket
monitors, C-MAC monitors, S-Imagers, single-use laryngoscope blades, connection
cables, portable power components, and the associated video intubation platform cart for
use within the Medical Services Department. The existing airway management devices
currently in use have exceeded their end-of-life period and require replacement to
maintain compliance with clinical and patient safety standards. Biomedical engineering
training will be required for supported staff.
2. Objectives
The objective of this acquisition is to replace outdated airway visualization and intubation
equipment with updated C-MAC video laryngoscopy systems to support safe and efficient
airway management for Veteran patients. The upgraded devices will improve visualization
capabilities, enhance procedural reliability, and ensure compatibility with current clinical
workflows. This procurement will strengthen overall patient safety, increase provider
effectiveness during airway interventions, and ensure the facility remains aligned with VA
technology lifecycle and clinical practice requirements.

4. SCOPE
This contract covers the procurement and delivery of C-MAC video laryngoscopy systems
and related components for the Medical Services Department at the Olin E. Teague
Veterans’ Medical Center, Station 674 (Central Texas Veterans Health Care System),
Temple, Texas. The contractor shall provide all equipment, accessories, and components
necessary to ensure full clinical functionality of the C-MAC systems.
Supply and Delivery of all C-MAC monitors, pocket monitors, S-Imagers, single-use
laryngoscope blades, power components, connection cables, and the video intubation
platform cart to the designated facility location.
• Installation and Setup of equipment in accordance with manufacturer
specifications and clinical workflow requirements.

• Verification and Testing to ensure proper operation and compliance with VA
performance and safety standards.
• Training for clinical and biomedical engineering staff on proper operation, care,
and maintenance of the equipment.
• Warranty and Support Services in alignment with manufacturer-provided
coverage and VA requirements (1-year minimum warranty).
• All equipment must be new, fully operational, and compliant with applicable
regulatory and technical standards, including VA, FDA, ISO, and electrical safety
requirements.
6. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

5. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
5.1. C MAC Pocket Monitor Set with battery:
• Must be high-contrast with widescreen resolution – minimum 640x480, 160 degree
viewing angle minimum
• Must be IPX8 water and dust-proof, suitable for wipe disinfection or immersion in
disinfectant

• Must include compatible rechargeable battery with charging unit
• Battery must have a minimum runtime of 60 minutes
• Must include a carry bag for pocket monitor
• Must have protective cover
• Must be compatible with other VA owned reusable video laryngoscopes.
5.2. C MAC S Imager:
• Must be reusable
• Must have a light source
• Minimum resolution of 320 x 240 px
• Must be compatible with C-MAC system interface so it can connect to the pocket
monitor, CMAC monitor and other VA owned CMAC monitors
• Must be IPX8 water and dust-proof, suitable for wipe disinfection or immersion in
disinfectant
5.3. C MAC Monitor for CMOS Endoscopes and C-MAC Video Laryngoscopes:
• Must have wide-angle display, 160 degree viewing angle minimum
• Must be full high definition, minimum of 1920 x 1200 px
• Must have video input and output (HDMI)
• Must have USB port to be able to export and transfer data
• Must support real-time recording, image and video capture
• Must be suitable for wipe disinfection
5.4. C MAC Video Intubation Platform Cart
• Must have an articulating arm capable of tilting up and down, and panning left to
right
• Must have cable management
• Must have a minimum of two scope holders
• Must have storage bins
• Must be able to hold monitors and video laryngoscopes
• Must be mobile so it can be moved from one area to another
5.5. SLIMLINE VIDEO LARYNGOSCOPE
• Must be compatible with equipment listed above
5.6. S SLIMLINE VIDEO LARYNGOSCOPE D-BLADE
• Must be compatible with equipment listed above
5.7. All equipment must be compatible and interchangeable with VA owned Karl Storz C-
MAC Monitor, C-MAC Video laryngoscope #3 and #4 blades and D-blades.
5.8. The system shall utilize a modular or interoperable design that allows monitors,
imaging modules, and laryngoscope blades to function cohesively as an integrated
system.
5.9. The system shall include rechargeable power options and charging capabilities that
ensure continuous readiness for urgent and emergent airway procedures.
