1. Purpose
This document identifies the minimum technical information and salient characteristics needed to
define the Solar Panel Replacement requirement. The COR should complete or confirm all
applicable requirements so prospective contractors’ materials meet or exceed the evaluation of the
existing damaged system and propose a complete, compatible, durable, and fully operational
replacement.

4. Damage Assessment and Replacement Requirements
• Contractor shall inspect the burnt or heat-damaged 400 Amp electrical equipment, breakers,
wiring, connectors, conduit/raceways, and adjacent components.
• All components determined to be damaged, compromised, unsafe, or unsuitable for continued
service shall be identified, reported, and replaced with approval of COR and CO as
authorized by the contract terms and conditions.
• Replacement equipment shall be new, compatible with the solar photovoltaic system and
existing facility electrical system, and properly rated for the intended application.
• The contractor shall not reuse wiring, breakers, terminals, or electrical components that show
evidence of burning, melting, excessive heat exposure, arcing, insulation deterioration, or
other unsafe conditions.
• Final installation shall include required labeling, grounding, bonding, testing, startup,
commissioning, and verification of proper system operation.
