JNCIA- Junos Training
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
1. Scope of Work
The Contractor shall provide a four-day introductory-level training course on the Junos Operating System
(Junos OS). This course will provide students with the foundational knowledge required to configure,
verify, and troubleshoot devices that run Junos OS. The course will focus on practical experience using
the command-line interface (CLI) and cover topics including Layer 3 network interface basics, routing
tables, static routes, OSPF, Layer 2 switchports, user accounts, firewall filters, routing policy, and
troubleshooting. The Contractor shall provide all necessary training materials, equipment, and qualified
instructors to deliver the course effectively.
2. Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
• Explain the most important benefits of Junos OS and describe the kind of devices that run it.
• Explain how to remotely connect to the Junos CLI and how to use operational mode to verify
system information.
• Describe the reasons that IPv6 was created and explain how to read an IPv6 address.
• Explain the difference between a physical network interface and a logical unit.
• Demonstrate how the Junos OS CLI can reveal detailed information about network interfaces.
• Describe how Junos OS stores its configuration using a logical and hierarchical structure.
• Demonstrate how to deploy configuration in Junos OS, and how the commit process helps to
prevent mistakes.
• Demonstrate the commands and keyboard shortcuts that make Junos CLI configurations more
efficient.
• Gain practical experience in configuring and monitoring Junos OS and monitoring basic device
operations.
• Understand the key architectural components of the software that powers Junos OS, the
separation of the control plane and the data plane, and the reasons that Junos OS is built for
automation.

3. Tasks and Deliverables
The Contractor shall perform the following tasks and provide the following deliverables:
3.1 Course Delivery:
o Deliver a four-day "Introduction to the Junos Operating System" course based on Junos
OS Release 22.1R1.10.
o Provide instruction covering all topics outlined in the Course Overview (provided above).
o Incorporate demonstrations and hands-on labs to provide practical experience.
o Provide qualified instructors with expertise in Junos OS and experience in delivering
technical training.
3.2 Training Materials:
o Provide each student with comprehensive course materials, including:
Student Guide (electronic or printed)
Lab Guides (electronic or printed)
Access to necessary software and virtualized lab environments.
o Ensure all training materials are up-to-date and accurate.
3.3 Lab Environment:
o Provide a functional and stable lab environment for students to complete hands-on
exercises.
o Ensure the lab environment accurately reflects a real-world Junos OS network.
o Provide technical support for the lab environment during the course.
3.4 Course Evaluation Token:
o Provide 20 tokens for a JNCIA course evaluation to students at the end of the training.
4. Acceptance Criteria
The following criteria will be used to determine acceptance of the services:
5.1 Course Completion: Successful delivery of the four-day training course.
5.2 Materials Provided: Provision of all required training materials as specified in Section 3.
5.3 Functional Lab Environment: A fully functional and stable lab environment available
for the duration of the course.

5. Contractor Qualifications
The Contractor shall possess the following qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in delivering Junos OS training courses.
• Certified Junos instructors (e.g., JNCIS-ENT or higher certification preferred).
• Access to a suitable training facility (if applicable).
• Proven ability to provide a stable and functional lab environment.
6.1 Period and Place of Performance
The period of performance shall be in accordance with the contract schedule. The Contractor
shall present 4 8-hour sessions to go over the required training items listed in section 4. The
training will be conducted within 180 days of the contract being awarded. All training will
be accomplished in-person, at Ellsworth AFB. Exact dates should be coordinated with TSgt
Olson or TSgt Bowker at (605)385-6351.
7.1 Contractor Task Requirements
The Contractor shall administer and manage in-person training workshops, providing their
training material, and provide training certificates and documents relevant for training records
admin. 7.1.1 Training Management Support/Customer Support Services
Contractor shall oversee, coordinate, and/or manage the in-person workshop. Customer
support services may be required on-site.
7.1.2 Meeting Support
Contractors shall participate in a kick-off meeting and provide information on their
teaching model and the material that will be presented during workshops and online
training. Government representatives to be able to provide feedback and, if needed,
request some adjustments to content where deemed appropriate.
7.2 Travel/Temporary Duty (TDY)
The Contractor shall be fully responsible for all travel arrangements, to include; airline, hotel,
rental car reservations, and all other travel arrangements associated with the trip. All travel shall
be included in the firm fixed price portion of this contract and will not be reimbursed separately.
7.3 Emergency Phone Numbers
