Description
SPECIFICATIONS
Specifications Description: Gel/membrane digital imager and analysis system
Quantity: 1
Unit Type: Each
Minimum Requirements:
The digital imager must be self-contained without the requirement of a separate computer.
A Charge-Couple Device (CCD) camera sensor is preferred over Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) sensor.
Peltier cooling of the CCD sensor is preferred.
The instrument’s camera must be capable of capturing images of greater than or equal to 8.0 MP
Light source requirements:
The unit must be capable of producing ultraviolet transillumination at wavelengths of 302 and 365 nm.
The unit must be capable of both epi-white and trans-white illumination.
Must contain RGB LEDs for true color imaging of opaque and translucid samples
The unit must be able to detect chemiluminescence.
A blue light source (400-500 nm) is desired but not required.
The imaging system must have a safety door sensor that automatically deactivates light sources when the door is open to prevent accidental exposure to UV or other excitation sources.
The trans-illuminator should have safety override enabling band excision from gel.
The ability to excite and detect common fluorophores is desired but not required. The ability to upgrade for this purpose is preferred.
Desired fluorophores include, but are not limited to Alexa Fluor 488, SYBR Green, Alexa Fluor 647, Cy5, Phycoerythrin.
A motorized filter wheel capable of holding at least six (6) filters is greatly preferred.
The footprint of the unit cannot exceed the dimensions of 50 x 60 x 40 cm (W x H x D)
Automatic image focusing is greatly preferred.
The imaging system must detect samples with a spatial resolution of at least 50 µm.
Analysis software must be included in the final price.
Software must be able to perform molecular weight analysis, densitometry, array normalization, automated band and lane detection, and background subtraction. Colony counting and multiplex analysis is preferred but not required.
Software compatibility with both PC and Mac operating systems is greatly preferred.
The unit must be able to run without internet access.
Non-proprietary file formatting is greatly preferred.
Data must be exportable to USB.
The unit must run off a 120V power supply.
The unit must be Made in America.
