Description
Minimum Specifications (Salient Characteristics)
CLIN 0001: Refrigerated Shaking Incubator meeting or exceeding the following
minimum specifications:
• Temperature Range (Refrigerated): Must feature active refrigeration cooling. The
unit must be capable of maintaining setpoint temperatures from a minimum
of 16.0°C up to a maximum of at least 60.0°C. To guarantee stable operation at the
low end of the range, the unit's cooling system must have the capability to cool the
chamber to at least 15°C below the ambient room temperature.
• Control Interface: Must feature a digital microprocessor controller with an LED,
LCD, or touchscreen display for precise monitoring of temperature and speed.
• Temperature Accuracy: Must maintain high temperature accuracy of at least
±0.1°C to ±0.2°C at 37°C.
• Agitation Speed: Shaking speed must be continuously adjustable across a
minimum full range of 30 RPM to 300 RPM.
• Orbit Diameter: Must have an orbit diameter between 0.75 inches (19 mm) and 1.0
inch (25 mm).
• Platform & Capacity: Must be compatible with a universal platform (CLIN 0002)
capable of accommodating and securing up to six (6) 1-Liter Erlenmeyer flasks
simultaneously, or at least sixteen (16) 250 mL Erlenmeyer flasks simultaneously.
• Chamber Material & Maintenance: The interior chamber must be constructed of
corrosion-resistant stainless steel to allow for standard laboratory wipe-down and
easy cleaning in the event of a flask spill.
• Stacking: Must be stackable to at least 2 units high (CLIN 0005).
• Power: Must operate on standard US voltage (120V ± 10%, 60Hz) with standard
cUL/UL certifications.
• Warranty: Must include a standard commercial warranty of at least one (1) year
covering parts and labor.
CLIN 0002: Universal Platform meeting or exceeding the following minimum
specifications:

Description: Two (2) each, Universal platforms with a minimum physical footprint of 18" x
18" capable of accommodating and securing up to six (6) 1-liter Erlenmeyer flasks
simultaneously, or at least sixteen (16) 250 mL Erlenmeyer flasks simultaneously. Must be
constructed from corrosion-resistant materials to prevent rusting in high-humidity
incubation environments. Must be fully compatible with CLINs 0001, 0003, and 0004.
CLIN 0003: 1L Flask Clamps/Holders
Description: Four (4) each, 1-liter spring-action Erlenmeyer flask clamps constructed of
corrosion-resistant materials. Must include compatible corrosion-resistant mounting
hardware to attach each individual clamp securely to CLIN 0002.
CLIN 0004: 250 mL Flask Clamps/Holders
Description: Twenty (20) each, 250 mL spring-action Erlenmeyer flask clamps constructed
of corrosion-resistant materials. Must include compatible corrosion-resistant mounting
hardware to attach each individual clamp securely to CLIN 0002.
CLIN 0005: Stacking Kit
Description: Manufacturer approved stacking kit intended to safely stack 2 refrigerated
shaking incubators. Must feature mounting hardware that secures the upper unit's frame
directly into the lower unit's chassis frame. The installation of the stacking kit must not
block, cover, or impede access to critical rear exhaust vents, refrigeration cooling intake
grilles, power plugs, or technical service access panels of either the top or bottom
incubator units (CLIN 0001). It must be fully compatible with CLIN 0001.
