1 SCOPE OF WORK “PRESERVE BUILDING 10 WINDOWS” PROJECT #656-22-342 ST CLOUD VA HEALTH CARE SYSTEM A. PART I – GENERAL 1. Base Project: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to repair, remove, replace and completely refurbish all windows in Building 10. The contractor shall remove the existing internal and external window trim and wall finishes in order to successfully gain access to and cut out the existing wood windows. Incorporated into the demolition of the windows will be the safe removal of both lead and asbestos containing material as guided by the local and national rules and regulations of lead and asbestos remediation. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for the complete and satisfactory installation of the new/refurbished window frames and sashes. The window installation shall include the patching and painting of walls, ceiling installation and restoration, trim and millwork installation, and repair of all damaged in place items. This work will be completed in an occupied building; all construction activities shall be completed behind proper construction barriers as described in the specifications. The contractor shall return the worksite to the Veterans Affairs Health Care System after the work is completed, and all of the required work is satisfactorily completed and signed off by the assigned Contracting Officer’s Representative. Contractor shall remove Lead and Asbestos materials associated with windows d. New construction consists of but is not limited to windows, doors, general construction and abatement. 3. Contractor is responsible for the movement, adjustment and storage of all furnishings disturbed during construction. 4. Contract working hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. Weekend and night work may be necessary in sensitive areas and shall be approved by the COR. 5. Phasing will be as listed on the contract documents B.
