# CONTRACTOR QUESTION VA RESPONSE 1 Is the card access system on site, on prem or cloud? On prem with primary directory located at VAPHS University Drive location. 2 What type of Acre card access system is onsite? (example access it, DNA fusion, ac tyro, omnis, act365, premisys, or matrix frontier) Access It! 3 Will all of the card access and camera work be going through Miller Information Systems? Miller Information Systems is our onsite security vendor. Amended drawing 00-TY001. 4 Please provide location of condensing units being removed and replaced as indicated by sheet notes 6 & 7 on DWG 51-MN400 and sheet notes 1& 2 on DWGs 51-MN401, 51-MN402, & 51-MN403. Neither the existing condensing units or the existing refrigerant piping is shown. Notes indicate to demo existing refrigerant piping and  install new refrigerant piping in place of existing piping which is not shown. Amended drawings 51-MN101, 51-MN102, 51-MN103, 51-MN400, 51-MN401, 51-MN402, and 51-MN403 dated 6/25/2026. 5 Please provided HVAC Equipment schedule drawings. Amended plan sheet 00-MG600 provided. 6 Can you please confirm that a project schedule is not needed for the bid proposal and is only needed post-award?  Amendment 0004- No project schedule required. 7 Specification 087100 Door Hardware, Section 3.05 refers to a hardware consultant. Is this consultant to be provided by the Owner, or should the door vendor include the consultant in their pricing. Door vendor to include in their consultant pricing as part of their internal quality control process. 8 Specification 087100 Door Hardware, Please provide the types of cores and keyways that are to be provided for this project. Is the subcontractor to provide the final cores and keying, or is there an existing keying system. The selected contractor is responsible for all work called upon in the drawings and specifications. Provide Standard Core Best Access System door cores to match existing Facility Standards to VA Locksmith for final keying and station coordination. 9 Specification 087100 Door Hardware: Can more information be provided on the door hardware sets, as some of the provided information is vague. Specifically, Integral Hinge Guard Channel, Adjust-Screws, and In-Hinge Access Panel, and the BHMA numbers. Integral Hinge Guard Channel = is a feature that comes with a Continuous Hinge that protects the assembly, Adjust-Screws = Adjustable Screws, In-Hinge Access Panel = Concealed raceway in the door’s hinge for an electrified lock, BHMA numbers = BHMA product numbers, finish codes, and function codes provided in specifications. 10 Specification 104413 Fire Extinguisher Cabinets: Please provide if white enamel will work instead of primed for exterior of cabinets? Finish interior of cabinet body with baked-on semigloss white enamel. Finish door, frame with manufacturer's standard baked-on prime coat suitable for field painting. 11 Specification 104413 Fire Extinguisher Cabinets: This specification does not reference fire extinguishers, nor is there a specification specifically for fire extinguishers. Please clarify who is responsible for procuring the fire extinguishers. If the CM is responsible, please provide specification and / or size requirements. VA will provide fire extinguishers. 12 Drawing 50-AE401 & 50-AE601: Details on 50-AE401 show rooms GA130A New TR and GA130B New Storage. The Room Finish Schedule on 50-AE601 only reference room GA130A. Please provide room finishes for room GA130B New Storage. Finishes with corridor closet GA130B shall be similar to those specified for new/similar closet at 1st floor (1A129E) and then coordinated w/ VA to match adjacent corridor. Final selections will be further clarified through the normal submittal process by awardee with station (Interior Design via COR). 13 Drawing 70-AE401: In Detail E4 of the floor plan, Note A10 shows a section in the CMU wall fill; however, the referenced detail shows a stud wall. Please advise which material should be used. New wall fill should match adjacent existing wall material and finishes. Align with adjacent wall faces. 14 Specification 090600 – Schedule for Finishes: Please provide additional information regarding the linoleum flooring. Reference the specifications for 090600 Schedule of Finishes for basis of design for VCT. 15 Due to the size and nature of this job, we kindly request an extension of the RFI submission date and bid submission date of two weeks each. Any possible extension of bid due date will be based on when responses to technical questions are posted via solicitation amendment. 16 Will Special Inspections for firestop (078400) will be contracted to the General Contractor, or would this be directly to the VA? Reference specification 078400 Firestopping 1.05 C. - Contractor to engage a qualified inspector to perform inspections and final reports. 17 Once the New Fiber enters the building are we providing new 4” Conduit and Maxcell to the TR’s. 4” conduit and textile innerduct are for underground and exterior to interior pathway transitions only. Interior 4” conduits are not required. Corrugated innerduct is acceptable for interior pathways. 18 General Note 3 on Drawing 00-TS101 states that on any new Conduit runs there will be 2 spare conduits there are several places it only calls for 2 Conduits. Steam Tunnell. Building 52,Building 53,Building 49 with no spares. The main ring underground pathway will account for spare capacity. Conduit pathways that branch off the ring for building entry pathways are reduced to (2) 2” conduits. 19 The drawings state that the cable will be run in cable tray is all the cable tray existing as the drawings show no new cable tray except in the TR’s. Intent is to utilize existing cable tray within corridors to the fullest extent possible. Contractor to supplement pathways with new non-continuous supports, as necessary. 20 On the Leg
